It’s Fall Y’all! Pumpkin Everything

Jump to recipe

As soon as that first aspen tree turns yellow and the first snowflake hits the Tetons, it’s time to bust out the sweaters and the pumpkin spice. And before you throw out the “basic” labels, let’s just get one thing straight: We love pumpkins. And we don’t care who knows it: pumpkin spice, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies, even pumpkin seeds. So sit back, grab yourself a warm pumpkin-infused coffee, and enjoy some of our favorite pumpkin-packed musts around town.

The Bunnery

You can’t talk about all-things-pumpkins without a mention of the king of pumpkin spice: The pumpkin pie. And what better place to dive in with a heaping spoonful then Jackson’s go-to hot spot for flaky, delicious baked goods and breakfast favorites: The Bunnery.

From now until December, they are dishing up pie after pie of creamy pumpkin goodness. And if you’re for some reason not in the mood for pumpkin a la pie form, snag a couple pumpkin apple muffins for breakfast.

Café Genevieve

A comfort food must with a touch of Southern goodness, the team at Café Genevieve are no strangers to whipping up warming classics. They’ve unveiled their seasonal fall menu with mouth-watering delights like the Café G Biscuit Board. Yes, biscuits, served with pimento cheese and peach jam. But pumpkin is stealing the show on the dessert menu in the form of cheesecake. This decadent cheesecake is made with brown butter, pumpkin, and salted pecans. And true to Café Genevieve form, there’s a little bacon in the mix, too: maple bacon caramel. Save room for dessert.

Picnic

Before I lose anyone who can’t get on board with the pure pumpkin flavor, it’d be a crime to not mention pumpkin’s other perk: the seeds. These nutty, crunchy seeds add a richness to salads, soups, breads, and more. And at Picnic, they are topping off a must-try savory toast that will take your brunch to the next level. Hearty multigrain bread topped with avocado, radish, and tart cherry tomatoes are a perfect combination. But topped with feta and roasted pumpkin seeds? This is the toast dreams are made of, fall or any season.

Pearl Street Bagel

Starbucks might claim inventing the crowning jewel of fall concoctions, the pumpkin spice latte, but we like our SPL even more when it’s brewed by the baristas at Pearl Street Bagel. Pair your seasonal wonder with a cinnamon raisin bagel smeared with honey walnut cream cheese.

Lotus Cafe

Amy Young, the owner and chef at Lotus Café, is no stranger to exciting flavors. Just in time for fall, she is delighting palates with a spicy, sweet cookie creation and a whole lot of pumpkin. Ground cardamom and pureed pumpkin bring out the seasonal aromatics of the pumpkin cardamom cookies. You’ll have trouble munching just one. So much so, we asked Young to share her recipe so you can devour a delicious treat all season.
