Embracing Your Lunch Break: Part 2

Today we revisit all the places that Jackson has to offer for your next lunch out. Sometimes we are lucky enough not to have to start our timer or make a mental note of what time it is before flying out the office door. These options offer you a place to sit down and enjoy your food before heading back to the grind.

The Sit Down Lunch Break: when you have time to sit down and unwind before heading back to the office, all these places are great options to try.

Cafe Genevieve: Their whole lunch menu is delicious, but there is something about the Reuben that has me almost hopping in my car to get one right now. The log cabin vibe and deck when sunny offer a great ambience as well.

Local- Daily lunch specials accompany their lunch menu featuring items like sandwiches and burgers to more hearty options like pasta or steak. If you turn your late lunch into a happy hour occasion, they have awesome drink specials, too.

Bin 22- Sometimes you just have to spoil yourself, and Bin 22 just so happens to be the perfect place to do it. With off season lunch specials starting later this month, it makes it even easier to snack on a delicious charcuterie plate over a glass of wine. Sounds like a good lunch break to me.

Persephone- Their breakfasts, bread and pastries are well known for being some of the best around, and their lunch items don’t disappoint either. Grab a seat inside or enjoy their spacious deck with a warm coffee. Don’t worry, if you’re feeling like breakfast for lunch they don’t stop serving until 3 p.m.

Snake River Brewery- Perfect for a liquid lunch, and great if you want some food to go along with it. Ask about their pasta or pizza of the day. There $10 pizza and beer special is one of the best in town.

Sweetwater- Southern cuisine in the comfort of a quaint cabin sounds pretty good to me. They have a wide range of salads and sandwiches to fill you up. Don’t miss their Shrimp Po’Boy for a true taste of the south

The Bunnery- The classic Jackson breakfast spot has great lunch options as well. With burgers, sandwiches and eggs all day you can fill up for lunch and even take a slice of freshly baked pie home for later.

Town Square Tavern- Not just for watching the game or catching a concert late night. They open at 11:30 a.m. for lunch, and judging by the weather the past few weeks, we still have some more time left to grab a seat on their great patio and soak in fall time in Jackson.

Merry Piglets- Mexican for lunch anyone? With a huge menu spanning well past your typical burrito for options, Merry Piglet’s offers a chance to break up your sandwich routine.

Rueben at Silver Dollar Bar

Silver Dollar Bar- Something about the change to winter makes me crave a margarita, the Silver Dollar Bar has you covered on that end with some of the best in town. Back to lunch though, don’t miss their cuban made with Snake River Farms pork tenderloin. It’s absolutely delicious.

Sidewinders- A great selection of burgers and salads keep the west Jackson lunch crowd happy. Don’t miss out on the French onion soup either. Recently featured in “Diner’s Drive-In’s, and Dives,” it is the perfect way to warm your belly on a cold day.

Lotus Cafe- Another great option if you’re looking for healthy, organic and tasty options. The eclectic menu has everything from Asian dishes to amazing bison biscuits and gravy to wonderful bowls and salads. Don’t forget to get a fresh juice or squeezed cocktail while your there.

Heading over the pass?

Tacos from Streetfood at the Stagecoach

Tacos from Streetfood at the Stagecoach

Steetfood at the Stagecoach has great food made from scratch, the tacos and Cuban come highly recommended. Chippy’s Kitchen has a changing menu of fresh dishes prepared by Chippy and her friendly staff. Check what days they are open and don’t miss the Alaskan salmon sliders if they are on the menu. Pearl Street Bagels West and DOG West- Same could be said about either of these places as their Jackson counterparts, both offering the same great food you can find in town.

Chris Hogberg

Food and cooking has been a great travel buddy for Chris, finally taking root in Jackson. Originally from Seattle, Chris enjoys rainy walks to get coffee, cold dark beers, and cozying up in a warm restaurant kitchen. He has a background in marketing but has spent most of his days working in fine dining behind the line. Now you can find him selling hummus, perusing the farmers markets, or mountain biking behind his Aussie Shephard, Zephyr.
