During this week of giving thanks, it makes sense to try to do something selfless. So if you haven’t already been participating in the Fine Dining Restaurant Group’s philanthropic off-season deal, then you should start now.
Every week since late October Rendezvous Bistro, Q Roadhouse and Il Villaggio Osteria have been charging $2 for your second entrée instead of giving it away for free as is the norm around Jackson. By doing it this way instead, they choose to donate the $2 to local nonprofit organizations. The Kitchen is participating as well by donating $1 per customer all night long to the same non-profit of the week. Since starting the program over a year ago, Fine Dining has donated more than $25,000 to area nonprofits.
This week, the money earned will be going to KHOL, Jackson Hole Community Radio and then wraps up the month of charity next week with Horse Warriors, which is an equine-based empowerment organization.
Organizations from the last month that have received donations from FDRG include: National Museum of Wildlife Art, Senior Center of Jackson Hole, The Murie Center and Honoring our Veterans. If you missed out on any that have special meaning in your life, just remember it’s never too late to contribute, time or money. Go to their websites and see what you can do year-round. In the meantime, thank you to Fine Dining for spending my hard earned consumer cash wisely and kindly.
