Bapp Pops Up on Broadway

Another new restaurant snuck onto the scene recently: Bapp. Bapp is the reincarnation of Kim’s Corner, previously located in the Snow King Sports & Event Center. Now, Bapp occupies the space previously inhabited by Ocean City China Bistro at 340 West Broadway.bapp

The breakfast and lunch menus at Bapp are simple and affordable, but full of flavor. Also expect service that is equally friendly and efficient from the moment you walk in the door. Breakfast is served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and includes egg plates with protein options and sides of home fries or toast. For something sweeter, there are multiple waffle options: a classic waffle with butter and syrup, a waffle with fruit or chicken and waffles. A breakfast sandwich option comes on a bagel or English muffin, and there’s a yogurt parfait on the menu for something lighter.

For lunch, Kim’s Corner enthusiasts will recognize some of their favorites, like spicy pork bowl or Triangle Kimbap. Bap, in Korean, refers to a Korean-style cooked rice. As the new name suggests, a lot of the menu items at Bapp include this style of rice, like the ahi tuna bapp and the ricebowl with your choice of chicken, beef, spicy pork, spicy tuna or tofu. If rice isn’t your thing, the fried noodles are also very popular. We also recommend the fried potstickers. Of course, for the less adventurous eater, a few classic dishes include a ham and cheddar melt, Bapp Burger and B.L.T.bapp

Bapp boasts a drink menu that has everything from beer to wine to cocktails. The cocktail list currently has three options: a vodka citrus spritz, hibiscus margarita or rum ginger juice.

The dinner menu at Bapp is an extensive variety of Korean-inspired entrees. Here’s a rule of thumb: if you aren’t familiar with the word, it’s probably delicious. The rice dishes, or bimbimbap, mean just that–rice combined with various ingredients. Think fresh veggies, greens and a protein of your choice. The fried noodles are similarly composed. Other entrees include beef short ribs, a steak burger, fried rice and jjigae–a Koeran stew. Start your meal with an ahi tuna salad, chicken wings or jeon, off the appetizer menu. Jeon resemble pancakes in appearance, but these side snacks are far more flavorful. At Bapp, shrimp spinach jeon or kimchi jeon are available.bapp

Bapp is open for brunch Monday-Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., and for dinner from 5-9 p.m.
