A New Dinner Experience at Rations

Basecamp, in Wilson, broke the mold on our common conception of what a fueling station should be (and look like, for that matter). The modern, upscale gas station is a pleasant departure from the plain jane gas stations where the brightest feature is the blaring fluorescent lights. Traditional convenience items share space with more gourmet grocery items, carefully selected wines and a variety of beers and spirits. Now, this week, Basecamp will host a highlight unique dinner dining experience.

Rations, the in-store restaurant at Basecamp, is a not-so-hidden gem in this establishment. By employing high attention to detail and creative preparation of breakfast and lunch options, Rations quickly caught the attention of Jackson Hole food consumers. Fresh, inventive and seasonal ingredients make each of their dishes shine, and we are excited to see these techniques applied to their new dinner service.

Starting December 12, Rations will host an intimate, communal dining experience every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening. This is a reservation only experience that can accommodate up to 16 people at each 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. seating. Reservations must be made through RESY (and there is a cancellation fee for cancelling or changing your reservation within 24 hours of the reservation).

When the dinner numbers are known, each week chefs Brian Laughlin and Kyle Nicholson will create a unique, prixe fix dinner menu. The fluid menu and open kitchen are sure to keep diners rapt with eager anticipation. Complete the experience with food centric wine pairings and creative cocktails. The cost of these dinners is $65 per person (for food only).rations dinner wines

Sam Simma

Raised in the land of casseroles and deep fried cheese curds, Sam Simma left rural Wisconsin for the mountains of Wyoming in summer 2012. Her appetite for adventure is the only thing that rivals her passion for food. She has always used writing to document and critique her travel and dining experiences. Her warmest memories among family and friends have been associated with the food that was at the center of the occasion. From staging cooking shows with siblings to perfecting turtle brownies with her dad, today Sam enjoys connecting people over food by hosting cookie decorating parties, wine pairing nights, and Midwest-inspired potlucks. A dessert fanatic, she has come to impress friends and family with key lime pies, Oreo bon bons, and Snickers ice cream cakes that are far simpler than they could ever imagine. Shhh! Don’t tell.
